Movie Review : Sunshine

 

PLOT

Our sun is dying , and the only hope for survival is a team of astronauts which is sent to revive the dying sun by delivering a payload which will re initiate the fusion process within the sun. A similar team was sent 8 years ago but did not succeed and was never heard from again.

I , to be honest , did not even know that this movie existed. While surfing a site dedicated to science fiction i came across it and the plot immediately caught my attention , as such plots never fail to do

Fortunately good releases were already out on the torrent community and 6 hours later the download was completed and the movie ready to be watched !

The special effects grab you right at the beginning of the movie and hold you for much after it has finished.

Right! So what is it..???

Simply put its a conscious attempt (sometimes unconscious as well) on the part of company or a person to promote/establish/generate buzz about their brand or product in the market.

Sounds simple right , well it is but getting the result are not. Virals can be costly and rely on the basic assumption that they are “interesting enough” to be passed around by users. Typically an agency which develops a viral will send it to everyone in their office with the anticipation that employees will pass it on to their friends and so on , or they can alternatively shoot off mailers as well.

Internet Advertising Terminology

As old and obsolete as this particular topic might seem, one is still surprised with the number of people in the industry who are either not aware or are confused between them. This is a one line explanation article for common terminologies in internet advertising.

IMPRESSIONS:  Essentially the number of page views an ad slot receives. If one was to say that a website gets 1000 impressions a day, it means it gets 1000 page views.

UNIQUE VISITOR:  If you have visited a page / website 5 times in a day you would not be looked at as 5 users, but 1 only. Your IP would only be logged in once. This would be reset every day.

CLICKS: A visitor clicking on a particular section on the site – be it an ad, an article, or anything clickable.

CTR:  Click – through – rate. The number of people who click on an ad, on the site, per 1000 impressions.  Hence if a site gets 20 clicks for a 1000 impressions then the CTR is 2%  i.e. Total Clicks\1000 X 100.
